About Health First Clinic
At Health First in Exeter, we combine ancient healing with modern techniques acquired from Masters in China to help you achieve balance and wellness
My journey into Traditional Chinese Medicine has been shaped by both personal experience and family. I come from a family of health professionals, both from Western and Chinese Medicine, so caring for others and understanding the body’s natural healing abilities have always been important.
It wasn’t until I experienced my own health challenges that I truly discovered the power of Chinese medicine. The support and transformation I found through Acupuncture, was extraordinary. These experiences inspired me to learn the practice for myself, so I could help others find the same relief, balance and sense of wellbeing.
My practice provides Acupuncture, Cupping and Tuina in Exeter for adults across all ages, providing holistic healing for a number of conditions, ranging from small ailments to chronic conditions.

What Can You Expect
Our specialist treatments here in Exeter is tailored specifically to the physical requirements of your body, giving you a truly unique treatment.
In the first session, we begin with a written questionnaire about your general health and wellbeing to highlight any patterns you may have. Then, we go to the physical assessment, where we will ask some questions to determine the root of the issue. We will form a Chinese medical diagnosis and patients will be instructed to lie down or take a seat depending on the ailment presented. We will then assess the affected areas and tailor the treatment to your specific needs.
The first session will last approximately 90 minutes and will consist of a 30-minute diagnosis and a 60-minute treatment. Any subsequent treatments will last between 45-60 minutes depending on the requirements.
About acupuncture & TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine)
A Unique Approach to Healing
Stimulation of Acupuncture points activates the nerves and sends impulses to the brain and body's defence system causing them to release different biochemicals. It reduces stress and relieves pain by releasing natural painkillers in the nervous system and stimulates healing mechanisms. This starts the process of healing and restoring balance in the body. It decreases the excess heat in the blood and inflammation in the body and calms the mind. It stimulates general health and wellbeing, not only relieving the symptoms, but also correcting the root of the problems. Because of its proven effectiveness, more and more people around the world use acupuncture for many illnesses.
Acupuncutre can be beneficial for a variety of conditions, including, but not limited to:
- Musculoskeletal pain (e.g., back pain, neck pain, joint pain)
- Sports injuries
- Headaches and migraines
- Stress and anxiety
- Digestive disorders
- Insomnia
- Chronic fatigue
- Hayfever
You should allow 90 minutes for your first appointment. During this time, we will undertake a thorough assessment of your medical history and you will have your first Acupuncture treatment. Subsequent treatments last between 45 and 60 minutes.
This depends on your condition and how you respond to treatment. Each patient is different. We usually find that an older person will respond to the treatment at a slower rate and response to treatment is more rapid in some conditions rather than others. On average, a course of treatment usually comprises of 8-12 sessions. For some conditions such as depression and fertility more treatments will be needed. The number of treatments needed will be discussed with you during the first session.
The needles commonly used in Acupuncture are very thin and usually painless when inserted.
You may experience a slight tingling or energetic sensation, however, once they are in place, you should not feel them. Most patients say they feel relaxed, uplifted and positive whilst having their treatments. At any time, if you do feel uncomfortable, adjustments can be made to make you feel at ease.
This depends on your condition. For example, with musculoskeletal pain improvement it is usually rapid. With other conditions such as depression, improvements usually build gently from treatment to treatment.
I have been seeing Will for both massage and acupuncture treatments regularly over the past year, and the results have been incredible. When I first started, I was dealing with persistent and often debilitating back and neck pain. His treatments have not only provided immediate relief but have also helped address the underlying issues, leading to a massive long-term improvement in my pain levels and mobility. While my main issues were my back and neck, Will has also used acupuncture to help with other areas, always with a professional, caring, and knowledgeable approach. He truly listens to your concerns and tailors each session to what your body needs.
Will is absolutely great, very knowledgeable and professional. He has helped me massively with neck and back pain, and it’s improved my sleep and stress levels hugely! Couldn’t recommend enough
I have been to Will's Clinic several times for different pains and aches as well as sleep problems. The response to his treatments have been amazing every time. I highly recommend him to anyone with pains or sleep problems.
